The railroad arrives in 1859

Rail service spurred growth. The Vienna Depot served the town until the Washington & Old Dominion Railway ended in 1968. Its route is now the W&OD Trail.

Church Street and Maple Avenue

Church Street got its name in the 1870s as churches were built. Maple Avenue became the commercial center in the 1950s.
